Fence Installer-Helper

  • The job entails coming to work on time, along with the job duties listed below.
  • Normal business hours are Monday thru Friday start at 7am and the workday ends between 4:30 and 5:30 pm, and when busy (we are busy now) Saturdays, and sometimes later weekly hours (as late as 6-7pm). It is a 40+ hour work week.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Operating/driving company forklift to load and unload trucks of fence materials and tools.
  • Operating/driving company trucks to various job sites.
  • At the job site unloading and loading trucks of fence materials and tools by hand.
  • General fence installation duties at various job sites such as digging holes, digging trenches, lifting up to approximately 200 lbs, mixing cement, pushing heavy wheel barrows full of cement, putting fittings on posts, hanging and stretching wire, wiring gates, putting fence panels together, installing panels, hanging gates, job site clean up.
  • This is a heavy labor position and is for someone who likes to work hard and isn’t afraid to get dirty and can take the Florida heat!!!!!! We work in all weather conditions, rain or shine. You will get wet. Temperatures in the summer can get over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Required General Skills:

  • Knowledge of carpentry tools
  • Ability to lift and carry 80lbs.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to instruct and give directions to a crew.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Experience with hauling trailers and backing up trucks with a trailer.
  • Must be a positive team player with a “can-do attitude daily”

Experience Required:

  • None

Must have your own reliable transportation to our shop and home.

The entry level salary for inexperienced is $13.00-$15.00 per hour.  If you have fence experience having worked for another fence company the salary will be based on your experience.

Experienced Fence Installer Foreman

  • Normal business hours are Monday thru Friday start at 7am and the workday ends between 4:30 and 5:30 pm, and when busy (we are busy now) Saturdays, and sometimes later weekly hours (as late as 6-7pm). It is a 40+ hour work week.

Responsibilities included but are not limited to:

  • Knowledge of vinyl, chain link, wood, and aluminum fence installation.
  • Verify that all parts, materials and tools needed for project installation are loaded on the truck prior to going to the assigned job site.
  • Make decisions on how to conduct the installation of the project including where to install based on boundaries.
  • Discuss fencing needs with customers and get clarification on specifications when needed.
  • Measure and lay out fence lines and mark posthole positions, following instructions, shop drawings, blueprints or specifications.
  • Align posts, using lines or by sighting, and verify vertical alignment of posts.
  • Understand markings, and follow requirements for underground utility safety prior to digging.
  • Dig postholes, using skid steer, dandy digger, jackhammer, core drill, gas or manual post hole diggers.
  • Ensure the specifications for the site have been met by the crew and always check with the customer.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as collection of signatures from all work performed, employee time sheets, and other paperwork.
  • Willing to work Saturdays during the busy season.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Operating various hand tools and power tools.
  • Job site clean-up.

Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years of prior fence installation required
  • 1 year as a supervisor or foreman required

Must have your own reliable transportation to our shop and home.

Pay will depend on years of experience. This position is responsible for all types of fence installation, running a fence crew and working with customers to resolve any concerns. Successful candidates must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

WELDER/FABRICATOR

  • The job entails coming to work on time, along with the job duties listed below.
  • Normal business hours are Monday thru Friday start at 7am and the workday ends between 4:30 and 5:30 pm, and when busy (we are busy now) Saturdays. It is a 40+ hour work week.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Using verbal or written instruction from sales orders, locates material from stock in warehouse or yard and transports it ot a pipe preparation/welding area.
  • Notches, bends and swedges pipe sections, as needed using power equipment and cuts pipe to indicated lengths using a tape measure and pipe cutting equipment.
  • Lays out pipe sections on a jig or table and welds with MIG/ARC welding equipment and techniques, applies cold galvanizing solution to protect welds.
  • Maintains welding equipment by changing gas bottles and welding wire, as well as some maintenance to welding equipment and other miscellaneous machinery.
  • Inspects completed gate frame for proper specifications using tape measure and square.
  • May assist in gate fabrication including gate filling and addition of fittings and scrolling using hand tools.
  • May perform miscellaneous duties depending upon size of the branch including loading/unloading trucks, filling customer orders, etc.
  • May operate other machinery such as forklifts.
  • May be required to go to job sites and make adjustments on gates for customers who are having problems with installation due to damage during shipping on fabrication.

Experience Required: 

  • 1-5 yrs. welding experience with MIG,ARC welding and torch cutting and previous fence experience.
  • Able to perform own layouts and use jigs.
  • Physically able to lift 80 lbs repeatedly.
  • Must be able to work around heat and chemicals.

Must have your own reliable transportation to our shop and home.
