Ok sure it's been 4 years but 6 of the pressure treated posts have rotted through, to date. When the first one failed I called to have it replaced... At first it wasn't a big enough job, then it was 3h. They are supposed to be planted in concrete to help avoid rot. Never again Edit: They did respond to this criticism. Came out & confirmed the posts were rotted and in concrete. I had already replaced 2 & had bought and planned to do the other 3. The one they replaced last year makes 6. They did offer to do the work for the 3 I planned for free. I declined, intent to finish what I started. But they assured me that they would take care of any others in the reasonable future if they fail.Posted on JD ArmstrongTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. they did a poor job on our fence and it is falling apartPosted on Nikita S.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This process should NEVER have gone on as long as it did, especially for a project costing over $6,000. What should have been a straightforward fence installation turned into weeks of stress, frustration, and constant follow-up on our end. I want to be clear: our sales representative, Harold Dumas, was the only positive part of this experience in the beginning. He was friendly, professional, and communicative up until the project was ready to begin. After that point, communication completely fell apart. My husband would receive early morning calls saying, “We’re ready to start,” with no prior scheduling confirmation and no reasonable timeframe given. We have neighbors with children and pets who require notice for safety reasons. Instead, crews were ready to show up before we had even been given the opportunity to inform anyone around us. It was inconsiderate and completely unprofessional. Not only that, but because the initial work was not done correctly, the crew had to come back out and redo sections of the fence. That meant coordinating schedules, notifying neighbors, securing pets, and rearranging our own work obligations all over again. This entire process had to happen twice because the job wasn’t done properly the first time. When issues arose and we were trying to get things scheduled and confirm days, my husband called and texted Harold and received no response. When I called the office, I was told I needed to speak with Harold — the same person who was not responding. We were sent in circles trying to get answers about a project we had already paid thousands of dollars for. As for the workmanship itself: I will be posting photos. Corners were literally cut. Nails were sticking out of the fence. Some boards were missed entirely and never nailed down. This is basic installation work and there is absolutely no excuse for that level of carelessness. The "cleanup" was just as alarming. Trash was left on both our property and our neighbor’s property. A stack of nails was left sitting on top of our A/C unit where they could have fallen in and caused damage. Nails that were ground off because they were protruding were left scattered on the ground. Children play in these yards. Dogs run freely. The fact that we even have to worry about someone getting injured because of leftover debris is outrageous. At this point, the biggest issue is trust. After everything we’ve experienced, I am already questioning the integrity of the work behind what we can’t see. When visible details are this sloppy, it is hard to feel confident in the structural quality of the rest. I regret convincing my husband to use this company. We expected professionalism, quality, and accountability. Instead, we got poor communication, substandard workmanship, and a drawn-out process that never should have happened. Edit: My husband just need another walkthrough around the fence and found EVEN MORE ISSUES! So, not only was the work done NOT double checked, but the 3rd time they were here, they only fixed what my husband showed them, so... for the future 4th time, does that mean that they will only fix what he shows them again? Why is it so difficult to get quality work from someone who promised us a quality job?Posted on West Whistle2145Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would give Armstrong Fence zero stars if I could. We paid over $13,000 for what we were told would be a “quality” fence to keep our children and dogs safe. Not only was it the most expensive quote we received, we chose Armstrong specifically because we trusted their name. That was a mistake. From the very beginning, the fence never sat flush with the ground, which completely defeated the purpose. Our dogs were still able to escape. We were told to haul in dirt at our own expense to fix their poor installation. That “solution” washed away. We then spent additional money on pavers, spikes, rocks, and blocks trying to compensate for a fence that never functioned properly from day one. Now, just over five years later, the fence is completely rotted, panels are falling off, gates are sagging, nails are backing out, and entire sections are close to collapsing. We were told wood was the better option for Florida weather. Clearly, it was not. The vinyl option we originally wanted was discouraged by their salesman. Looking back, that advice cost us thousands. When we reached out for help, we were met with dismissiveness and technicalities about warranty timelines instead of accountability. The response essentially boiled down to: “You signed paperwork, it’s been five years, not our problem.” No acknowledgment of the safety risks. No ownership of the fact that the fence failed long before any reasonable homeowner would expect. Just a push to sell us another fence. We are still paying off the financing for this fence through GreenSky, and now we are being told to pay again for repairs or replacement. My husband is a disabled veteran, and this experience has been incredibly disappointing. A company that markets itself on reputation and longevity should stand behind its work longer than five years, especially at this price point. If you are considering Armstrong Fence, think very carefully. Expensive does not mean quality. We paid premium pricing and received a fence that did not even last half as long as it should have. The manager came out and inspected the fence and said that all of the damage was caused by bugs so I had our exterminator company come out and inspect the fence and they said that the damage was from weather not bugs. I sent the report to Armstrong and they still will not except responsibility for the poor quality of their product. Proceed with caution. **************************************************************** REPLY TO OWNER: YOU HAVE ALREADY SAID THAT YOU WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS FENCE. This is part of the email from Kara. We regret that this situation has caused frustration and appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention. While we are unable to assist with warranty claims due to the age of the fence and the terms agreed upon, we remain available to discuss paid repair or replacement options should you wish to explore them. THE FENCE IS A LITTLE OVER 5 YEARS OLD!!!! YOU OVERCHARGED US FOR A 5 YEAR FENCE!!!! People do your research & you will find several others with this same experience. I truly wish that I did my research instead of trusting a hometown name like Armstrong. We are still paying for this fence and now need to buy a new one as it has deteriorated throughout, panels are falling off, the gate is falling off, nails are backing out everywhere and we have a whole section of fence that is about to fall over. Our dogs cannot go outside unsupervised and have to stay locked up for 9 hours a day while we are at work instead of being able to enjoy the yard that should be a safe space for them considering that we spent over $13,000 to keep them safe which apparently was a bad idea. I wish I would have went with any of the other companies that we talked to prior to choosing Armstrong because they were half the price or less, that way it wouldn't be so disappointing if the fence didn't last AT LEAST 10 YEARS. There are no words to describe how upsetting this is especially since this was a lot of money for us and we do not have money to replace the fence again 5 years later.Posted on Francesca HarperTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. One of the highlights of this job was the lead mechanic Eddy. With an old school work ethic, his guys worked well for him and they did a great job. Management could have done better at scheduling, but when Eddy was there the work was done quickly and efficiently. My husband being in the construction trade for 50 years doesn’t usually give such high praise, but insisted we share our experience.Posted on Minh LeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great experience with Armstrong Fence from start to finish! Everyone I interacted with was professional and friendly. The lady who scheduled my consultation was helpful, Chris in sales rep was thorough and informative, and Mike did an excellent job with the installation. I absolutely love my new vinyl fencing - it looks fantastic! What really impressed me was the pricing. Armstrong Fence came in at $2,000 less than my previous quote from another company, and I didn't sacrifice any quality. The price was very reasonable for the work they provided. I highly recommend Armstrong Fence to anyone looking for quality fencing at a fair price with excellent customer service throughout the entire process!Posted on AndyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
